MMU Students Nab 2nd place at TBS DigiCon6.

  "Bakekok Productions" which consists of Multimedia University students from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia has won 2nd place for the Malaysian leg to the TBS DigiCon6 competition with 'KITIK'. TBS DigiCon6 is a contest established in 2000 for digital content creators, both professional and amateur, to enter their original work. This annual competition has grown to be the most recognised award in Japan, which seeks and recognizes talented creators through-out Asia (Japan, China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia) and rewards them for their outstanding works. The Malaysian leg to the TBS DigiCon6 competition saw local animators working around the clock in the race to represent Malaysia in Tokyo, Japan. A Postgraduate K-Symposium themed “onestep>>forward” will be held on Friday the 28th September from 8.30am to 4.30pm at the FCM Theatre. This event is sponsored by i-knowmedia, which belongs to one of the University's Research Centres of Excellence. The aim is to provide current Masters and PhD postgraduate students with the opportunity to share their work with others. i-knowmedia and SIGs Knowledge Sharing @ Gallery

In conjunction with Merdeka Raya celebration, both Faculty Research Colloquium Committee and Faculty SIGs Committee organised a knowledge sharing session called "i-knowmedia & SIGs Knowledge Sharing Session”. The purpose of the sharing session is to provide a platform of interaction among faculty research groups, to know what members are doing for research, and to have exchange of ideas in research with postgraduate students. The session was then followed by Merdeka Raya Luncheon and Performance by the FCM Gallery Team and FCM Admin Staff. FCM’s Nokia Tap That App Closing Ceremony.

Cyberjaya (Wednesday 27 June 2012): Last year, Multimedia University (MMU) was one of twelve selected institutions in South-East Asia to participate in the Nokia Tap That App (NTTA) regional competition. Thirteen MMU students who successfully uploaded mobile apps to Nokia's Ovi Store because of the NTTA received a total of USD40,000 from Nokia. The students, nine from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) and four from the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), participated in the NTTA which was hosted by the Interface Design (ID) programme at FCM.
