FCM Research Colloquium held on the 25th of May 2012 at 9.30am in K-Space. It provided faculty members with the platform to share their own research ideas with one another within a friendly environment. Knowledge and experience of different stages of their research was shared and exchanged as well as constructive advice and criticism from others who were present.

18 May 2012 – The Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) bagged a Silver Award from the 23rd International Invention and Innovation Exhibition at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Two entries from the Interface Design (ID) programme were exhibited in the ITEX 2012 from 17-19th May, 2012. Both entries, D-Glo and EcoMonster, stemmed from final-year interface design projects. The head of the ID programme, Mr. Khong, was quoted as saying that, “We (staff and students) have participated in ITEX before and we will continue to pursue interface design excellence. The ID programme was the first at the faculty to deploy real-world projects to its aspiring young design students. We will strive to provide quality education and R&D work without losing focus on industry needs and global issues”. Mr. Khong added that the ID programme is unique in the region as “it is the only one of its kind providing both tangible (physical) and intangbile (non-physical) user-centred interface design”. In the past, the ID programme have created industry links with reputable organisations such as Panasonic, Telenor, Microsoft and Nokia.
