Cyberjaya (Wednesday 27 June 2012): Last year, Multimedia University (MMU) was one of twelve selected institutions in South-East Asia to participate in the Nokia Tap That App (NTTA) regional competition. Thirteen MMU students who successfully uploaded mobile apps to Nokia’s Ovi Store because of the NTTA received a total of USD40,000 from Nokia. The students, nine from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) and four from the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), participated in the NTTA which was hosted by the Interface Design (ID) programme at FCM.
To close to the competition, FCM and Yayasan Universiti Multimedia (YUM) jointly held a ceremony to mark the occasion and it was attended by the President of MMU, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Muhamad Rasat Muhamad, Nokia’s Business Development Executive, Miss Huang Sze Jia, and MMU’s Vice President Academic, Prof. Dr. Ong Duu Sheng. FCM was represented by its Deputy Dean Tg Putri Norishah Tg Shariman. Also present at the ceremony were three industrial collabotrators from the ID programme, and staff and students from FCM.
