Life Figure Drawing Workshop

On 28th April 2012, some 30 Alpha Foundation students of FCM, MMU, Cyberjaya, participated in a ‘Life Figure Drawing Workshop’ organised by the National Visual Art Gallery (NVAG), Kuala Lumpur. The workshop was an educational program held in conjunction with the exhibition called ‘Pertarungan: Amron Omar’, that was being held there.

Amron Omar is known for his figure drawing & painting skills. He began his career as an artist in the 1980s, participated in many exhibitions both locally and internationally. Amron has also won several art awards and has taught drawing at several art institutions. The exhibition at the NVAG presented 150 artworks which including some oil paintings and drawings. It was opened since 15th February 2012 and will conclude on 27th August 2012.

The Life Figure Drawing Workshop was attended by many art students and young Malaysian artists. Together with other established artists known for their figure drawing and portraiture, Amron conducted the workshop and shared his experience.

It was a first- time experience and a joyous one for the FCM students to attend a ‘public art workshop’ together with students from other institutions and artists. They were provided with free materials and meals. The students were accompanied by six FCM Foundation lecturers.
