General Rules & Regulations

1. Registration is free open to primary, secondary schools and higher education. Deadline 16 Oct 2021 Saturday 11.59 PMDeadline extended to 31 Oct 2021 Saturday 11.59 PM.

2. The submission can be individual or team (2 to 3 members for poster / 2 to 5 members for video).

3. The content must promote “SUSTAINABLE ENERGY AWARENESS” in Malaysia . Example : http://www.seda.gov.my/reportal  .  The language can be Bahasa Melayu, English, Chinese or Tamil. For Chinese and Tamil please provide translation for poster and subtitle for video.

4. Submission must be made in digital format. Participants must promote the competition by sharing their entries in the provided channel by the organiser.

5. Every submission will be considered as original work.

6. All submission (poster/video) containing any form of potentially offensive material or otherwise inappropriate for public display will be excluded from the competition. The organisers reserve the right to withdraw any submissions at their discretion.

7. All submissions become the property of the competition organisers and may not be returned.

8. By submitting a poster/video, participants give permission for their work to be displayed at various events, in publications and promotional material, and in electronic format without expectation of royalties nor other benefits.

9. The certificate will be given to top 10 submissions for each category for poster and video (total will be 30 certificates).

10. Students may submit as many posters or videos entries as they wish. However, only 1 first place prize will be awarded per student/team, and no student/team may receive more than 2 awards total per contest cycle.

Poster Challenge

1. Language used in the poster either Bahasa Malaysia or English or Chinese or Tamil. 

2. Dimension for poster – 
• an e-poster (created electronically) 70 cm x 100 cm, 72 dpi , colors preferable CMYK

3. Font sizes
smallest font size on e-poster should be equivalent to 10 pt Arial

4. Submission 
• via google forms provided
• Maximum file size is 10 MB
• Preferred file types are pdf and jpeg;
• A single file must be submitted online
• Other formats such as png, psd etc – as long as it can be upload within the file size.

5. Each of the poster entries must include the aforementioned theme or a related creative content.

6. Data used may be from either primary (collected by participants) or secondary (previously published by someone else) sources; if the latter, the source must get the permission or acknowledgement or be cited using appropriate footnotes and references.

7. Plagiarism will result in disqualification.

8. Upon shortlisted (top 10) poster, the participant will be required for submission of the raw material that has been used to design the poster.

Video Challenge

1. Duration of video shall be between 3 to 5 minutes (180 to 300 seconds) including the beginning and ending credits. Videos that are not in between of the length mentioned will be disqualified.

2. Video format preferable high-definition MP4 format with the aspect ratio can be 16:9 and a minimum resolution of Standard HD (1280 X 720 px).

3. Video style can be in fiction, documentary, narrative (scripted), short drama, animation, music clips, live-action, a community announcement, or mixed media that is suitable to deliver the story.

4. Video must be uploaded to Youtube. Fill in the video submission form and include the youtube URL.

5. The video must be uploaded as one single file (preferably in highest quality) for the submission.

6. All music, images and graphics used must be credited / acknowledged in the closing credits. It is the participant’s responsibility that the video does not infringe the rights, including but not limited to, copyright or intellectual property etc. of another person, group or entity. 

7. All the materials used must be copyright free, original, or permission from the owner is required. Information presented in the video must be cited, giving credit to the original source. Plagiarism of any kind will result in disqualification.

8. Competition submissions must not include any endorsements of products or services, or any obscene, violent, racist or defamatory content.

9. Incomplete entries or entries that do not comply with the formal specifications will be automatically disqualified.

10. Upon shortlisted (top 10) video, the participant will be required for submission of the raw material that has been used in the video.
