We are excited to announce an invitation call for members of the Faculty of Creative Multimedia and artists from all disciplines to participate in our upcoming exhibition, 

"SPACE: Emotion. Expression. Identity"

This exhibition invites artists to explore and interpret the concept of “SPACE” in all its forms and dimensions. Whether it’s the vastness of the cosmos, the intimate spaces of our daily lives, the abstract idea of personal or emotional space, or the architectural environments that shape our experiences, we encourage you to delve into the many meanings of space through your art.

Submission Guidelines

Eligibility: Open to artists of all backgrounds and levels of experience. We welcome submissions from visual artists working in any medium, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital art, mixed media, video, and installation art.

Theme: The artwork should reflect the theme of “Space.” We encourage diverse interpretations and innovative approaches to the concept.

How to Submit

Digital Submissions

Please submit high-resolution images of up to 3 artworks via email to hanafiah.waiman@mmu.edu.my.

Image Requirements

Each image should be labelled with the artist's name and the title of the work (e.g., wira_aps_Untitled1.jpg).

Artist Statement

Include a brief artist statement (no more than 300 words) explaining how your work relates to the theme of "Space".

Biography

Provide a short artist biography (no more than 200 words).

Selection Process

A panel of curators and art professionals will review all submissions. Selected artists will be notified. Once selected, you will receive further instructions regarding artwork delivery and exhibition details. Selected works must be delivered to the gallery before 7th October 2024. It is the artist’s responsibility to handle both delivery and collection.

Artwork Guideline

2D works: Artwork size should not be more than 220 cm in width and height. If the work is a series the work should occupy the area of 240cm horizontal.

Installations: Installation work should be not more than 100cm space, and 180 cm width and height.

Videos: Video work should be within duration of 3 minutes.
