Meet Hidayat Jamalolail, aka HDJ, our alumni from the Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons) Media Innovation, class of 2011.
Mr. Hidayat began his career as a freelancer working on musical theatre projects such as Supermokh Sebuah Muzikal. In 2013, he made a career turn by working as a Creative Designer for an Opposition Member of Parliament, which led to where he is now, eight years later. He is currently the Chief Creative Officer at INVOKE, a data firm that brings together technical expertise in data science, software engineering, application development, digital marketing and creative arts to offer data-driven solutions to the mass market.

He does not limit himself to one particular expertise. As a design and creative all-rounder, he is very much into everything that involves designing such as such as books, zine, interior, ui/ux, branding. Besides that, he is also interested in DIY stuff; self-published zines, self-produced design products & merchandise. Occasionally, he writes too. In 2015, he published a book titled “Cerita Budak Design.”

Meet Lawrence Tan Bing Thong, our alumni from the Bachelor of Multimedia (Honours) Film and Animation, class of 2013. Known as a graphic designer, an artist, and a dancer, Mr. Lawrence considers himself a ‘forever student,’ eager to both build on his academic foundations in art and design. He also strives to stay in tune with the latest digital media trends through continuous exploration and discoveries. His career started when he first joined WAU Animation back in 2014. Then, his journey continued to iKoala, Skoolbo, Project Beats from 2017-2020, which has given him a long experience in the creative industry. Amid his career, Lawrence also jumped into freelancing where he paints murals, creates logos, brand identities, and even collaborating with local fashion labels. Meet Muhammad Haziq bin Khushairi, a 2015 alumnus of the Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons.) in Media Arts programme. Mr. Haziq began working at Kakiseni as a part-time graphic designer in May 2015. Shortly after, he began working as a storyboard artist at Wau Animation, one of Malaysia’s top animation studios. He was promoted to Lead Storyboard Artist in 2016.

Meet our Permata Dunia, Nur Farah Ain Mahadon. A 2013 graduate of MMU with a Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons) in Virtual Reality. In the present, Ms. Farah is an UI Designer and also a Mentor at Ubisoft Mainz, a company located in Germany that engineers the biggest games on Ubisoft’s front line. She has been working there for 6 years!

Ms. Farah has led herself along a route where she has succeeded and become an expert in wireframe, visual mockup, and implementation, in addition to her passion in User Interface, User Experience, and accessibility. Her most recent project is Anno 1800, a game for which she designed almost 60% of the user interface and is also responsible for the majority of the game’s features, from the core to all downloadable content.

Meet Muhamed Zulkhairilishamuddin Dzulkepli, graduated with Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons) in Digital Media, class of 2006. He is currently working as Assistant Vice President, Quality Assurance Lead at Astro Malaysia Holding Berhad. Mr. Sham’s experience and expertises stretched wide from developing successful platform / applications specialized for a New TV Technology, to having strong understanding of operations for complex DTV infrastructure (VoD, HbbTV, OTT, MPEG / DVB) and experienced in managing, developing & deploying a New TV Technology such as apps for DIGITAL TV, Smart TV platform, Connected TV & Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV).

His expertise has also reached out across Asia as he is also involved in multinational & multiplatform OTT products such as TRIBE, (involving Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand), Astro GO, Njoi Now, and Astro Go for SmartTV. End to end responsibility for managing Astro Local & International OTT operation, support & projects. Besides working with Astro, he’s also managing his family-owned businesses, known as JTC Bike Centre and Joey Mini Garage.

Another successful alumni of Multimedia University, met Hasnul Fadhli bin Mohd Shafie. Graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons) in Virtual Reality, he is a senior 3D artist working with Metamosaic, a company known globally for their expertise in CG media and 3D architectural visualization in the design and property industry. Mr. Hasnul’ interest and expertise in architecture visualization leads to the establishment of his very own company, MELTED, which specialised in exterior and interior CGI artworks.
